DP Fall Teams Wrap Up Their Seasons

This past weekend saw the end of three very successful seasons for all three of Diamond Pro’s fall teams. During our fall season, we stress development and improvement and it was important for us that the players understood that. Part of their development, though, is continuing to go out there and compete every single day. We want them to compete not only against the other team but against each other as well. Competition within a team only drives overall improvement and benefits everyone. We are very proud of the way that all three teams, 12u, 15u, and 17u, competed throughout the fall.

All of our fall teams brought returning DP players together with new players which turned out to be a great experience for all. Our 12u team was coached by Tom Rogers and had a very successful fall as they outscored opponents 118-44. Our 15u team competed against some of the best local teams and Buffalo area teams. Coached by Zack Melino, their most notable wins came this past Sunday as they swept team New Era in Buffalo. The 17u Showcase team not only played against high school teams but had the chance to compete against the best junior colleges in the area. Coach Tony Fuller helmed a team that played Monroe Community College, Niagara County Community College, and Genesee Community College. The 17u team also traveled down to Fort Myers, Florida for the Perfect Game World Wood Bat Tournament with over 200 teams. They represented Diamond Pro proudly as they played against some of the best teams in the country.

As fall ball ends, we are now shifting gears to prepare ourselves for summer 2017. We hope all our fall ball players will continue to work hard as the cold winter months’ approach us. Best of luck to all players during their school seasons and we look forward to working with them soon.
